FAST TRACK IPL AND LASER COURSE
This ‘FAST TRACK LEARNING course will cover all aspects of performing permanent hair removal using the method of ‘IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)’ and ‘Laser’ which is now popular in thousands of salons today. The Academy is fortunate to have its owner, Deborah Kelly, as a professional trainer for several companies which allows her to have the machines with full approval to use them, which means that 1000’s of pounds worth of equipment is available for students to practice with. The Level 4 in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light Course will cover the following:
The customer will require multiple sessions in order to achieve the best possible results, and may need top-up sessions throughout the year but permanent hair removal isn’t 100% guaranteed for everyone, as there are many factors that can effect it such as hormonal imbalances, pregnancy and menopause.
How Does It Work
The treatment involves the application of a focused, broad-spectrumlight (xenon), which is applied to the surface of the skin using a hand-held application head. Selective photo-thermolysis involves the process of the light, which travels across and within the range until it reaches the hair shafts or the root of the hair (the bulb). The bulb is usually where the highest concentration of melanin is located. The melanin is what determines our hair/skin colour and once this melanin has been destroyed there can be no growth. The IPL light is changes into heat. This will literally ‘blow up’ the root of the hair. If a hair has nowhere to grow with no hair bed, it cannot grow!
Hair growth has three stages: growing (Anagen), resting (Catagen) and shedding (Telogen). The hair growth cycle will differ in different stages of growth on all of the body and it is due to this that multiple sessions are needed. A hair has to be in the Anagen phase for electrolysis hair removal to be most effective- similar to laser hair removal.
